Children`s games
The Wii is a great invention. For generations, consoles were mainly just used
for pure game play with no educational after thought. Parents would limit the
amount of time that they allowed their children to play video games. With the
Wii, you can find many titles for a variety of ages that are not only fun, but
also have a multitude of educational properties. Some games for the Wii help
children improve their reading and spelling skills using simple and fun games.
There are also general knowledge trivia games. What is clever about these games
is that the questions asked are tuned towards the player’s age group instead of
random questions. Since the Wii is a relatively new console, there are no
educational games that are directed towards the toddler or preschool age;
however there are plenty of games marketed for this age group. There are many
games that are modeled after some of the most popular cartoon shows that are on
television. One thing that most parents overlook when purchasing games for their
children is the game content rating. All games come with a rating from the ESRB,
or the Entertainment Software Ratings Board, which tells the buyer what age
group the intended game is directed towards. Also, the controls for children’s
games are usually quite easier to use than the controls for older children or
adults. There are also many children’s games that the parents can play with
their children, which will not only get the parent active, but will allow the
parent to spend quality time with there child. Among these games is the Rock
Band or Guitar Hero Games. There has been such a great response to these games
from children of all ages that there have been many sub titles created to keep
the music going. These games not only allow children to act out their musical
fantasies, but it may ignite a passion for music they would never otherwise
listen to.
