Family games
Most game consoles are generally focused towards children, but with the Wii,
the entire family can participate because almost all of the available games have
something to offer for everyone in the family. Wii games allow everyone to
interact, regardless of their knowledge of video gaming. There are even games
that are similar to board games, only without the set up, fights about who gets
to be what board piece, cheating and then the cleanup. There are many different
boards to choose. If you want to be active, there is a game where you and your
family are circus performers. The Wii is also good for families who may not have
room for recreational type events in their living space because of the many
games that allow families to play darts, air hockey and even table tennis. If
your family likes to watch game shows together, there are also games that are
modeled after popular competition shows such as Deal Or No Deal, Are You Smarter
Than a 5th Grader, The Biggest Loser and even Iron Chef. For the outdoors
members of the family, the Wii even offers games that simulate fishing and
hunting. The sensor controlled movement are so simple that all that has to be
known is how to move around and pretend that you are actual performing the task
in real life. Also, since the Wii can be connected to the Internet, there are
many downloadable games that a player can play with their family or at a party.
Another thing that is good about this aspect is that the popular DVD renting,
instant movie screening company called Netflix will be adding their capabilities
to the Wii which will allow families to stream movies that they will be able to
watch directly on their television.
