Platform games
A platform game is a game that is played by jumping to and from objects, over
obstacles. Most games of this type have a specialized jump button. Platform
games are very easy to pick up and play, even if you have never played a game
before in your life. With most platform games, the gamer is more worried about
great game play than the story line that goes along with the game. Many of the
original Nintendo platform titles from earlier years are also offered as games
on the Wii. Nintendo is the owner of the Mario Brothers franchise, which is a
game title that most people grew up knowing and even playing. One of the most
common styles of platform games is the Mario Brothers franchise. There are many
Mario titled games for the Wii console, including several revamped versions of
older games. Another type of platform games are called platform adventure games,
such as The Legend of Zelda. These types of games include elements of exploring
an area freely or unlocking sections through the use of special items. Sometimes
these types of platform games are commonly called RPGs, but are not. They only
have the elements of an RPG. Many titles that are offered through Playstation
and Xbox are also offered on the Wii. The up side is that there are many titles
produced for the Wii that are not available on other consoles. Some of platform
games that are made for the Wii are based off of cartoons. The Wii offers
platform games for a variety of all ages. Whether the gamer be a preschooler
playing a game based on Spongebob Squarepants or an adult stepping back in time
playing Super Mario Brothers, the Wii is sure to offer a platform game for
everyone.
